The first Inclusive Theological Education Convening took place on from the 20-23rd August 2024. The convening gathered theological institutions and public universities from Southern Africa to reflect on models of inclusive curriculum in theological education. It brought together representativs and senior academic staff – deans, rectors, curriculum developers, etc. - from theological institutions, researchers, LGBTIQ+ rights organisations and ecumenical organisation in southern Africa to explore a curriculum development framework within which individual institutions could develop their own curricular that are inclusive.
The aims of the convening include:
